Frequently asked questions

Where do you get your instructors from?

The instructors have to go through a selective application process that selects the most passionate instructors who've demonstrated their teaching ability. All our instructors have done exceptionally well academically. More importantly, however, they are passionate about teaching and know how to make difficult topics fun for campers of all ages.

Which courses should I register my child for?

Honestly, this depends on you and your child’s interest. We offer many different courses with each tailored towards a specific skill group, topic, or interest. Select a course based on what your child or you think may be a good fit in terms of pre-requisites, the content, and the topic itself. Feel free to reach out to us at codetcamp@gmail.com if you’d like a more individualized answer; we’d be happy to help out!

How will the classes be held and conducted?

Because we are an online camp (and because of the Covid-19 pandemic), all of our classes will be held through a combination of Zoom and Google Classroom. The vast majority of learning and activities will occur over the daily Zoom calls with our instructors (generally, 3pm to 5pm PST). Activities outside of the Zoom calls will occur via Google Classroom and G Suite (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc).

Why is there a service fee when I try to register my campers?

We use PayPal to process credit card payments and, unfortunately, they charge a small service fee. This fee comes entirely from their end, and we apologize if it causes any inconvenience. However, if you refer a friend to register, you and your friend will be eligible for a 10% discount on your currently enrolled course and a 30% discount on an additional course.

Where can I find more information on the courses?

We offer more specific information on each of the courses on their respective course page. After registering for a course, we will send you an email with more detailed information including dates, times, and a course syllabus as we approach the start date for the course. Typically, this email will be sent out the week before the course begins.

When will the classes be held?

The classes will be held on their respective week outlined on the website from 3pm to 5pm PST every weekday. Some courses will have take-home activities that campers can complete whenever; we will use Google Classroom to facilitate this.

What if I have a conflicting event with one of the classes?

No problem! Because all of our classes are held via Zoom, they are all recorded and the recordings will be posted on the Google Classroom. So if your child happens to miss a session, they can easily access and watch the recording to get caught up with the rest of the class.

Can I cancel or make changes to the course I selected?

Yes, you totally can! Just email us with the course you would like to change or cancel and we will accommodate you accordingly.

How do I know if my child has the appropriate materials/hardware for the class?

All of our classes are designed to have the least amount of material or hardware required. As long as your child’s computer supports Zoom and has a functional browser, your child will be able to complete all courses without trouble. Most classes will be using repl.it or similar online coding platform where your child only needs access to a computer with a functional browser. Chromebooks are ok for many (but not all) of our courses.

Do you offer scholarships for students who cannot afford Codet Camp?

Yes! We firmly believe that education should be accessible to all regardless of financial status, so we offer need-based partial and full scholarships to Codet Camp. If you have any further questions about this, shoot us an email (contact@codetlearning.com)!

I have another question that’s not answered here!

No worries! We’d be happy to help! Just send us an email (codetcamp@gmail.com), and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
